Task 3 Self-Reflection
Studying CR111 this semester has been a great experience.
The skills I have had to develop for the assessment tasks have proved to be
effective and highly useful for the future of my career. Teachers need to have
a firm understanding and background in literacy, numeracy and ict skills as
these are core foundations in education especially now as we are in the
technological era. Doing CR111 has helped me recall and build upon my numeracy
and literacy skills from high school so I would feel confident teaching
students maths and grammar.
While every task in the folio has had its challenges setting
up my PowerPoint and using slide master proved to be the most difficult as I
hadn’t used PowerPoint much until recently. I did not even know the meaning of
html before doing CR111 though at first it proved to be extremely challenging I
believe I learnt about it and utilised it enough in CR111 to adeptly and
efficiently use it in the future. One thing that I have taken away from CR111
is how easy it is to create online resources such as a quiz or the interactive
worksheet.
All in all CR111 has immensely improved my grammar and
punctuation, my long and short division and most of all my digital skills. Even
though I am a part of the digital generation I did not know the first thing
about PowerPoint, interactive worksheets, creating an online quiz or commenting
on an essay. CR111 has taught me skills that I believe I will use throughout my
career as a teacher and a student. I look forward to utilising and learning
more about these skills in the future.
